In a mountain home in Aspen, Colorado, we completed a simple but effective skylight remodeling project. The owner’s original curved skylight had been in disrepair for a long time, and not only was the glass severely yellowed, but water was also leaking from the joints, which was both aesthetically displeasing and a nuisance to the homeowner.
In response to the owner’s core needs of “solving water leakage, restoring light, and facilitating maintenance”, we chose the most practical solution: transparent tempered glass with a durable aluminum alloy frame. This combination ensures the sturdiness of the skylight and perfectly solves the original leakage problem. A specially reinforced waterproof seal allows the new skylight to cope with the changing climate of the Colorado mountains.
The result is a delight: sunlight is back in the room through the clear glass, and there are no more leaks to worry about on rainy days. The simple rectangular design not only fits in better with the existing style of the villa, but also makes daily cleaning and maintenance much easier. The owner said that this seemingly simple remodeling has improved the whole living experience.
